You can follow a simple template for each practice to easily build a session for every week.  Here is an example:

  • Players arrive to practice and meet at their specific fied
  • Proceed with a light exercises or drills to warm them up such as jogging around the field followed by 3 minutes of stretching, passing with a teammate, keep away and toe taps
  • Make sure to give them several water breaks, especially during the warmer days
  • Choose one topic to practice on such as dribbling. An example would be to setup cones in a line and have them zig-zag through the cones before shooting at a goal
  • If time permits, do another drill with the same topic to reinforce this skill
  • The kids obviously love playing, so set up a small field at the end of practice and play a 10-15 minute scrimmage.  This is a good opportunity to point out when to use the specific topic or drill you worked on during the practice
